Matthew Henry was a theologian, author and Bible commentator born in Broad Oak, Wales in 1662.

The son of a priest, he acquired a very good training and at the age of 18 studied in London. He wrote numerous works of catechism and sermons, but handed to posterity thanks to his commentaries on the Bible: An Exposition of the Old and the New Testament.
